Campus Specimens - Fringe Trees
State and national champions: The Virginia state champion and national champion golden rain tree earned a total of 214 points.
At Radford University, two golden rain trees have been planted on campus (#263 and 264). These are highlighted in the green circles below, and located on the west side (Tyler Avenue side) of Russell Hall, on either side of the entry steps.
Tree #264 is the largest, with a trunk circumference of 72 inches, average crown spread of 32.9 feet, and a height of 32 feet, for a total of 112 points.
